- A die crack connects the forehead to the sixth star and quickly identifies the "head of 1835", which in turn implies a "script 8" - slightly more common than the "block 8" in high grades. For an early gold series such as the Classic Head, AU-55 is a somewhat high grade yet this coin representative enjoys only minimal luster for the grade range. The surfaces do shows gorgeous, vintage ashen quality that speaks to excellent preservation.
