- 1909 Lincoln Cent. V.D.B. FS-1101. Doubled Die Obverse. MS-66 RD (PCGS). CAC.
Blended golden-orange and pale rose colors blanket both sides of this satiny, silky smooth Gem. Fully struck, as befits the issue, with a loupe readily revealing doubling to the digits in the date and the letters in the word LIBERTY. FS-1101 is the more prominent of two significant Doubled Die Obverse varieties for the first year 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln cent, the present example among the finest known to PCGS.
