1963-D Washington Quarter. MS-67+ (NGC). Otherwise silver-tinged surfaces exhibit mottled russet peripheral highlights that are boldest in an arc across the upper reverse. Although the Denver Mint struck a large total of 135,288,184 quarters in 1963, precious few have been preserved with enough care to secure a premium Superb Gem rating from PCGS or NGC.
