- 1773 Virginia Halfpenny. Newman 23-Q, W-1560. 7 Harp Strings, Period After GEORGIVS. MS-60 BN, Lacquer Residue. 106.48 grains. Deep golden-brown with olive highlights on the obverse and with lively blue iridescence that comes to life in a bold light source. Traces of lacquer cling to the reverse devices, best seen under low magnification and not altering the eye appeal to any degree. PCGS# 240. Provenance: Paper envelope with attribution notes included.
