1845-O Liberty Quarter Eagle. AU-53 (PCGS). Lustrous honey-gold with fiery orange highlights on the design high points. One of just 4,000 examples of the date struck. A rarity in AU and finer; indeed, the PCGS <em>Population Report </em>suggests that just 80 to 100 certification events have occurred in all grades. Of the PCGS-certified examples of the date, just two have been regarded as Mint State. Choice for the grade with excellent all-around eye appeal, and representing a splendid opportunity for an advanced Liberty quarter eagle specialist or for a collector who wants to add a little spice to his or her gold type collection.
