- 68.0 grains. This visually engaging piece exhibits soft golden-gray patina overall, the protected areas around the design elements highlighted by outlines of iridescent pewter-russet iridescence. The obverse impression is drawn to 6 o'clock with the lower border through the letters S IN M, outer beading present only from 10 o'clock clockwise around to 3 o'clock with a thin lip of virgin planchet beyond. The legend is fully legible, nonetheless, inner beaded circle essentially complete, tree soft at upper right, yet generally appreciable. For the reverse we note better centering and universally bold detail for the major design elements, although only a trace of outer beading is present at lower right on this side. A shallow planchet clip at 9 o'clock and slight waviness in the planchet at lower left relative to the obverse are as made. There are no post-production blemishes of note apart from a few wispy scratches in and around the centers that require magnification to discern, and traces of softly frosted luster persist to further enhance the eye appeal. This is certainly an above average example of this Noe number, both in an absolute sense and for the assigned grade, and it would do equally well in a type set or specialized collection.
