Losbeschreibung: B-1. What a wonderful GEM Brown Proof. Sharply struck and nicely reflective in the fields. Tinges of mahogany and soft azure tones over coffee-brown surfaces. The die striations as noted by Breen are seen at the lower right obverse; but struck from a later state, the obverse rim is starting to crumble at that area. A strong glass reveals a few tiny, widely scattered ticks, but these have no impact on the great eye appeal of this original GEM. Only 40 Proofs were struck. PCGS 2, NGC 4, CAC 1. This coin has not sold in auction that we can see in the database. The current CAC CPG value is listed at $9,600. There has not been any NGC graded example sold in auction since 2007 when a PR66 BN sold. Worthy of a great cabinet of Proof half cents. Good luck. Cert. Number 1846188002 PCGS # 1326
