- THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION A visually appealing GEM that boasts a rich underlying mint brilliance that highlights an iridescent patina that graces both sides in a somewhat unique pattern. The strike is better than typically seen for the date; you can make out 2 of the 3 leaves in Liberty's hair and most of the shield rivets, but they are not complete. A strong glass reveals a small scrape under Liberty's outstretched arm, but overall the surfaces hold up to the lofty grade and the eye appeal is nice. PCGS 23, NGC 20. Just eight are graded higher at PCGS in the designation. The most recent example sold for $1,821 in our October 2020 Regency Auction, and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,500. A pleasing example of the date overall. Cert. Number 34732911 PCGS # 5724
