- 1838 Liberty Eagle. Large Letters. VF-30 (NGC).
Smooth wear on the high points and showing average surfaces when studied with a loupe. This short lived type coin has the singular swept back curl of hair over Liberty's ear and a more pronounced curve to her truncation. These features were changed in late 1839 to a more subtle curve on the truncation and more uniform curls near Liberty's ear.
