Lot Description

B-6, BB-241. Ex Hesselgesser Collection. This is a very pleasing and original example of what we call a "GEM" XF. Well struck devices are crisp with just a touch of wear on the high points. Traces of original luster come through a layer of antique violet-gray patina. The eye appeal is exceptional for an XF with a problem free planchet and there are only a few minor ticks obtained by its stay in commerce. The wear is even and problem free giving this original beauty a wholesome and high end eye appeal. PCGS 5, NGC 48, CAC 3. The last PCGS/CAC example sold in auction for $5,875 in September 2013 and an NGC/CAC coin sold in the 2011 ANA auction for $5,578.
