- 1788 New Jersey Copper. Maris 50-f, W-5475. Rarity-2. Head Left. VF-20 (PCGS). A deep chocolate-brown specimen with golden-brown high points. Surfaces micro-rough and cakey under low magnification, but not to any great visual detriment. Obverse off-center to 11 o'clock, rim tight to CAE, a few light marks present, most of them in the planchet when struck, reverse evenly centered and minimally marked. One of three Head Left varieties in the New Jersey copper series. All told, wholly acceptable example of this ever-popular variety. PCGS# 527.
