Lot Description

1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 15-F, W-2900. Rarity-3. Mailed Bust Left, CONNECT, INDE. VF-30 (PCGS). 102.4 grains. Chocolate-brown fields and golden-tan high points form an attractive cameo contrast. Obverse rim tight to tops of NECT, some slight marks, in the planchet when struck, gather at the effigy's neck, and light microporosity in places becomes apparent under low magnification, reverse rim tight to tops of LIB, peripheral weakness at Liberty's foot&nbsp;and 1 in date, no serious marks greet the naked eye, bold design elements <em>including full shield details. </em>Miller's Obverse 15 represents the only instance in the series with CONNECT in the legend. Choice for the grade, and a pleasing coin that readily rivals Perkins:280 for overall appeal and quality.
