LOW MINTAGE! Frost, like icing on a cake graces needle sharp devices and well preserved surfaces. Extremely eye appealing and free of any unsightly contact marks. In fact, there is just a whisper of light handling throughout, indicative of a brief time in circulation. Although relatively 'common' in terms of mintage and availability as a date, the number of available coins grading AU or finer really tapers off. In fact, the finest graded coin is only an MS61 with just two pieces known. Just 17,300 pieces were coined this year. PCGS 17, NGC 16. Listed for $6,000 in the PCGS Price Guide. A couple coins have sold recently, one for $3,480 in March 2023, and another for $4,400 in March 2022. We compared this coin to images of AU55 graded pieces and this piece looks just as nice!
